I upgraded my old Asrock B550 Steel Legend to newer Asus X570e Strix games because it doesn't steal sata lines and ports when you add a second M.2 drive put in, and it's just that faster board. Installed in a brand new Haf XB Evo case. I decided to try this Ryzen 7 5700G so I don't have to buy another graphics card because of the cost. I don't play much, but I like fast graphics when I'm working and watching a lot of videos. I inherited a decent card from my old machine, an MSI Geforce 970. With the Ryzen X 5800X, I scored 9840 in Cinebench on my old B550. I removed the MSI, 5800X and fans and replaced them with the 5700G and accompanying cooler. It's that simple, and the fan comes in a plastic case with thermal grease pre-applied. EASY. I tied all the wires in a rubber band and threw them on the floor for easy reinstallation when I reconnected them. I had HDMI and aimed where the graphics card used to be and? Then it dawned on me why every motherboard I installed always had a lost and lonely HDMI port. I have never used them until now. I plugged it in and started it. I was wondering what installing this APU on a new board would look like. Did I have to assign graphics to this port as it should? The download took a few seconds longer than usual, but then a strange message appeared. You have changed processors. Do you want to reset the TPM settings? Y or NI pressed yes and it restarted. From that point on, it basically booted into a clean install of Windows 10 Pro with no further action. The screen was on and everything was fine. The motherboard went above and beyond to set up the Ryzen chip. It was surprisingly easy. I was looking for video specific drivers because windows set it to 1680x1020 I think and I thought it was low. I looked at the drivers and it said the main drivers. While searching I saw these virus people running all these driver and registry repair malware scams trying to infiltrate all computers with new fake AMD video drivers and I missed them. It's the same old stuff under a different name. Don't fall for it! Go to the AMD website and download the Radeo Software Arenalin program. It downloads all AMD chipset drivers and video software, even the overclocking tools you need for that chip and motherboard. My old Cinebech for B550, Geforce 970 and 5800X was 9840. The new 5700G AIO Cinebench result is 13798. When I went back and increased my motherboard system speed from 2333 to my 3600MHz memory, it jumped to 14028. I just could not believe such a jump. I had to evict the Chinese gaming mouse I was using and get another one because the drivers were conflicting. When I pressed the back or forward button on the mouse, the screen went black and I had to turn off the computer to bring it back. This doesn't happen with my other mouse, and when I came back to leave a note on my mouse review, it was gone. Both non-brand mice I bought were denied the opportunity to comment. One of them in 4 weeks. I found it strange. You see your purchase but you click on it and all the evidence is gone. Use a regular mouse or a well-known gaming mouse. The mouse software from these brands really ruins the graphics of this APU chip. I almost regret not putting this Ryzen 7 in my new Asus X570. But I hope that the graphics cards will fail soon and I can get something better than my MSI. I highly recommend this Ryzen 7 5700G. It's not all hype. I don't know how much $100 I'll have to spend to cover that bill, but I'm sure it will be enough and I could just skip it.
