I was very impressed when I received the 24 pin version so I also ordered the 9 pin version. The 24-pin connector is great for connecting a monitor to my laptop. I use a 34" display at home and a 17" portable monitor when I travel. The connection is solid and ignores the occasional slight stutter. Even though the portable monitor has an AC adapter, I can easily power it with a USB cable on a 1920 x 1080 display at full brightness. The 9 pin connector which I use when traveling because I don't want to carry around a wireless charger is just another thing to pack. I use the phone while it's charging. It makes more contact than a 24-pin, but it has less surface area, so that's to be expected. I see people complaining about the price, but the smart buyer gets what they pay for. Too many cheap products on Amazon are made by cheap companies, have the lowest standards, and disappear from the planet when complaints are received. I'd rather pay a little more knowing my product won't need to be replaced anytime soon. I'm losing it) Don't get the 24 pin connector if you just want to charge your phone. The 20-pin connector is more than enough if you just need to charge your device. However, if you want to connect an external display, this 24-pin connector will work just fine.
