Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced Fire Safety: Fire Lite Alarms BG-12L Dual Action Pull Station with Key Lock by Narendra Thapa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good traction station for the price

The BG-12L is a keyed version of the regular BG-12 that uses an Allen key. That being said, this review applies to most other models. BG-12 is a pretty good traction station. All parts are plastic which makes it light weight but it seems that it breaks easily if accidentally bumped into. The dual-action linkage is smooth (ADA compliant) and activates with an audible clank. When activated, the traction station will display a yellow bar on top of the handle that reads "ACTIVATED" and is visible from afar. Additionally, when activated, a small plastic tab protrudes from the bottom of the device. The device is difficult to reset. After unlocking the station with the provided key, you have to pull quite hard to open the station; It feels like you're breaking the station when you open it. Once opened, the handle returns to its normal position and the switch can be reset manually or simply by closing the station and locking it again, which is a nice feature. However, when closing the station, you need to push fairly hard and make sure that the top and bottom of the station are closed once latched. A feature of this handle that many others lack is Braille instructions molded into the handle. Also, some parts of the station are marked with pictograms for easier operation and restarting. Generally a pretty good traction station for the price, but if you need the durability of your device you can get an all-metal traction station like the BG-6, also from Fire*Lite, or another all-metal device.
