Small car. Do it and don't look back.

I have a 2002 Mazda Miata like all Miatas. These are roadsters. They have wild roaring street noise, up or down. Okay, it's a convertible and you say it's okay. I tried to add insulation to the "Noisy Zones". Not good. I've tried many things to reduce the rumble and road noise. Hence the last cash injection for Dinamat. All I can say is "do it" and don't look back. My little Miata is so quiet that my wife and I can have a normal conversation with her WITHOUT raising our voices. Quiet is a relative term, so it's a really tangible test. 94 dB behind the door-facing passenger seat lowered to 76 dB. Miata tricks. Trunk area and frame area on the outside, frame rails in the trunk. fuel tank and tank cover. The entire stern behind the seats (under removable panels). Areas behind the seats where the roof connects to the body. Doors (skin, not inner supports, and attach the top joist support to the top open part of the door). The rear decklid only needs the cut outs (4) and the front rib (no weatherstrips). These are the most important areas and can be completed with one of these 9 packs if there's enough left. You do NOT need 100% coverage as most of the photos show. They simply demonstrate an overzealous handling of the material. Use quilting to cover approximately 65% of exposed areas. Ring the area with your fingertips to hear the ringing. Only use the tape on exposed areas such as the trunk lid. It is only needed to cover open areas before sticking to other items (extrusion at the edges). As you can see, installation is a science and a little common sense will go a long way. The doors close with a pleasant "knock" and without a shout. The trunk lid closes with a click, not a rattle. Love my quieter little Miata! hp No weird smells. Attention asphalt silencer!
