Review on 🚽 Convenient Valterra Twist-On Waste Valve for Easy, No-Mess Waste Management in RVs, Campers, and Trailers by Marc Burke

We had an issue with a small leak on our black water valve which resulted in a small amount (about a cup) of black water always leaking out of the drain hole dripped The cover is removed to connect the drain hose. This seemed like a great solution to the problem - theoretically preventing the water from draining until the drain hose was connected. The disadvantage of this drain valve is that it is not permanently connected to the drain pipe and can easily be unscrewed. When I first used this device, it unscrewed when I rotated the valve handle (the valve body and handle section rotate 360 degrees, allowing you to adjust the handle to any position you want). I didn't expect it to open. so light and spattered with sewage - luckily I was wearing rubber gloves at the time. Since then, I've held the valve with one hand by operating the valve handle or removing the drain hose. If they made a better twist lock drain valve (like the one on my sewer hose) it would work great. I will continue to use the valve but may try to find a way to attach it more securely and will make sure to wear gloves!
