Look. I bought this because I wanted to improve the air quality in my home and even though I don't have the tools to say the air quality in my house was poor and I needed one, I did my research and purchased what I thought was a good device. Everything arrived in good shape and intact and then I installed the filter and turned it on. It performs as described. I keep it on auto and at first, it informed me that the air quality was low (in the 70's) and it ran at a pace that was faster and a bit louder. but the loudness was not bad at all. The air slowly became more filtered and the quality improved and the device seemed so quiet i thought it was off. There have been times when there has been some cooking that we could hear the device in the next room over "kick in" and sure enough it was detecting the air quality dropped. It quickly came back up in the 90's and quietedme down. As for the skeptical part. anyone can probably sell me a device that says it's cleaning my air when all it does is have a fan and a filter and I turn it on and it makes noise and gives me numbers! I feel confident this device is working and thinking of buying another one for my upstairs living space.Dropping my rating to a two. After about 3 months the "Auto" feature stopped working. We use this device in our master bedroom and used to love the fact that at night when all the lights are off the device would turn its light off. It stopped doing that. I can either have the light always on or the light always off but auto does not work any more. I have contacted the vender numerous times via email and they have responded but they always respond with how to turn Auto functionality on and off but never address the fact that its not working. In every correspondence I ask them how to either factory reset or fix this issue. Google searches do not find anything either.As for the product, like I said above it seems to work. Can I prove the air quality is better. no. but when there are periods of "things" in the air the fan speeds up and the quality level changes on the face plate of the device. A little sad that I paid close to $200.00 and the one feature we like a lot isn't working and no one from the manufacturer is helping. I am sure there are some units that work fine and I would return this if I could.
