It's normal for a vacuum gauge to need to be reset to 0 after air travel. However, what is not normal is that there is no way to null this sensor. The housing can only be opened with brute force and the needle can only be "set" back to position 0 by carefully levering it off and reinserting it in position 0. This is of course an undesirable reset method for a sensor. I would advise anyone reading this to get a liquid/glycerine filled gauge with a small rubber stopper on top instead. Resetting this type of gauge is as simple as gently placing your fingernail under the rubber and pulling up to equalize the pressure and you're done. Spend a few bucks more for a glycerin-filled sensor.
