Review on Rankie 1080P HDMI to VGA Adapter Converter (Male to Female) with Audio for PC, Monitor, Projector, HDTV, Xbox and More - Active HDTV Solution by Paul Tilden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This BIG device has worked flawlessly every time and is a real bargain too!

If you're giving a PowerPoint or other presentation and your laptop doesn't have a VGA output, you don't need to prepare too much. You know what I'm talking about: your new fast laptop doesn't have VGA (like most modern ones only HDMI). You come into the room and there is an old VGA connection and no HDMI! Your heart beats faster when you think about how to present without slides. This device has been AWESOME for me in each of these situations! I speak and teach often, usually using PowerPoint slides. My new laptop only has HDMI video, no VGA, but I've found many places still use VGA for their overhead projectors. I've used this adapter several times (maybe a dozen) and each time the video output was perfectly displayed on the screen. I feel absolutely safe with him! I was even more impressed recently when I tried my friend's Belkin and VGA only showed the right half of each slide! I thought it was the projector but once I replaced its adapter with this one the picture was perfect and as intended. God how impressed I was that my unnamed adapter worked where the Belkin adapter had a messed up image! After I finished my presentation, I ordered the same machine as a gift for him. He said it works great for him too. I recommend this device without hesitation. It works great as described and takes up very little space in my laptop bag. In short, this product simply provides extra security for any presenter who wants to avoid last minute connection problems with PowerPoint or other presentations! PS Mine passed many tests perfectly. Other reviewers have said theirs "fall apart," but looking at how it's done I can't even fathom how that's possible. If mine falls apart too I will come back and update this review.

Pros
  • Lightweight and portable HDMI to VGA adapter to connect an HDMI compatible device to a monitor or projector with a VGA port; Requires VGA cable (sold separately)
Cons
  • Legacy
