Review on Fritz Aquatics FritzZyme 7 Nitrifying Bacteria: The Ultimate Solution for Freshwater Aquariums by Bella Rodriguez

The reason I gave this product 2 stars is because Seachem has good products overall and buying the same product in smaller bottles was fine, but the gallon jar smelled like rotten eggs! I sent back the first bottle I had and the second bottle smelled the same which meant the bacteria had died. As the bacteria die, the smell just stays there and builds up until you finally open it. There is another review here from someone who went through the same situation, but I called Seachem's direct number when I got my second smelly bottle and the girl I spoke to assured me that she was in a bacteria factory and there are very few batches out there that don't thrive and even if the bacteria were dead like I thought it would not harm my aquarium or pond if I put them in. Basically it would be like adding water. GOOD...I went to check my FULLY cyclic 90 gallon tank that had been without ammonia for 6 months and suddenly after adding Seachem 7 from a gallon jug I had 0.5ppm ammonia so I knew right away that Seachem 7 was causing the problem This was the only new thing I added to my tank and I only added it to help with my low nitrates but I wanted them to go away. So I tested Seachem 7 and in fact at 6.0ppm it turned green instantly! So I would just be very careful with this product and return it if it smells like rotten eggs, not worth it trust me!
