Solid brass - cartridge arrived broken
Okay that's a big buzzing piece of brass. Stops - native brass cartridge and they work. The main cartridge is broken, the cold water side cannot be switched off. The plumber flushed and blew the valve, the contractors are already there so we're not stopping. I ordered 2 replacements just in case. That's not the kind of stress I need during this makeover. For the money the quality control should be better!
