Review on πŸ”§ Durable & Powerful DEWALT Corded 7.0 Amp 8 Inch DWE1014 Drill for Precision & Efficiency by Jeremy Choi

Ergonomics Terrible, very bad!

Too bad the designer, who can't be an engineer, designed the handle for this drill but apparently never used it. The good first: a lot of power, easily adjustable speed, reverse gear, low price, everything with key drill chuck. Now for the bad: the grip isn't the same at all, to the point where it's impossible to use. First, it is behind the drill. I didn't think of that when I bought it. But as soon as I got my hands on it, I realized it was bad design. Compare DeWalt to all my other good drills. The handles of the other drill are more centered in relation to the drill's motor, making it much better balanced. This is important as the drill gets bigger and heavier. DeWalt's weight is between black and orange. But it has a handle that looks like a cheap light drill that came from my grandfather's estate 30 years ago and was old at the time. Second, the placement problem could be solved by paying more attention to the detection angle and size. But no luck. Apparently the stylist thought it should take two fingers to pull the trigger. There just isn't room for three fingers on the handle. Look at my old Artisan. This drill was about to be replaced by DeWalt as the drill chuck would not close. Ergos is well sorted. My experience inspired me to fix the master pickup which turned out to be just a loose screw. DeWalt and Revain just lost a sale. If the new drill had better ergos, I'd throw the Craftsman away without hesitation. I'm glad I didn't!

Pros
  • The corded drill's compact design makes it easy to use
Cons
  • Damaged
