My front seats don't recline far enough to type when I put my computer on this tray. The rear seats are pushed back far enough to fit a tablet, but my front seats in a Toyota are too high and lift the tablet at an awkward angle for typing. Also, the plastic is flimsy and springs when typing, requiring a light press on the laptop. The laptop seemed to be too heavy for this tray. So make sure you use a very small laptop. I noticed that this tray was on display in a large BMW with plenty of space. The plastic on all parts was thin.
