the fixed end is a little longer than I would like and a lot longer than a similar strap so I have a good comparison. The tape is fine for everyday use, but don't forget to get corner protectors for rough edges - even plywood or OSB will wear down the tape. Use caution when using - step aside and make sure you know the condition of the unratcheted end - it may rebound at you if loose and you will let go of the ratchet - intentionally or not.
