Although quality control issues have plagued this radio for years, the fact remains that when you get a good radio, it's a great radio at a great price. I think I'm lucky because mine works as it should, which is very good. And I got a great prize from Revain! This radio is great on the AM DXer broadcast band and I don't have any of the AM issues mentioned in some of the reviews. No beeps, no vibrations, no background noise of any kind and it is very sensitive. I sincerely believe that the AM band is the strong point of this radio, which is why I bought it. It is also completely sufficient on VHF without any problems and also works well on the shortwave bands. I consider myself a harsh critic because I am a shortwave listener, DX operator and radio amateur with over 50 years of experience with all types of radio stations.
