Good Inexpensive Measuring Cup Set

Every Monday I bring the groceries for the week to work. Since I use the same thing for lunch, like carrots and peas, I needed a way to measure portions. I wanted something compact that wouldn't take up too much space in my everyday bag or on my desk, so I went in search of collapsible measuring cups. Of all the records I've looked at, this one turned out to be the best for me, so I ordered it. They arrived packaged in their own box, unlike some products that just put in a transparent bag or something like that. I really only needed a 1 cup, but being able to get all 4 sizes (1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, 1 cup) in one compact package was a bonus. Red wouldn't be my first choice, but it's easy to find. These mugs are made from silicone, are dishwasher safe and BPA free. So far they have worked well for me. I have used them to measure vegetables with great success. The only thing I like is their shape. Some measuring cups are deeper and narrower while being much wider at the top, making it easy to put things like peas in to get the right 1-cup size. They are easy to detach and fold, they are easy to wash and dry. The construction looks solid; The grips are quite thick not thin and I don't see anything wrong with the seam between the grip and the silicone, I expect them to hold up well with prolonged use. Let's take a look at some pros and cons: Pros: - Compact, travel-friendly - Silicone is easy to clean and BPA-free - Handles are thick and durable - Spout is wider than other mugs Cons: - Not available in other colors - Metal Ring holding them together is cheap and doesn't match the set. In summary I think this is a good set of measuring cups for the price especially if you intend to travel with them. I wish they came in more color options and the metal ring that holds them together is nothing special. Maybe Good Cooking could come up with something that goes a little better with the set, like a thick plastic ring or something. All in all, you can't go wrong with it. I rate them 4/5 stars and would recommend them to anyone who needs a spare set of collapsible cups.

Pros
  • Cup handles have holes for hanging or connecting cups together.
Cons
  • A little crumpled
