I wish I had taken the time to read the reviews before wasting my time and money on the purchase. I was very excited while shredding about 5 pounds of roast pork when I noticed large black spots on the meat that I knew weren't in what I put in the meat grinder. When I disassembled the unit I found black impurities throughout the flesh that was still there. Trying to find the source I thought it was assembly grease from the engine, cleaned the parts and found what I think the problem is: There is a bushing/washer on the back of the auger that connects the auger to the main body connects. As the snail spins, it appears to rub against the aluminum body (see image), scraping off bits of aluminum from the body that mix with the flesh. Eventually it becomes so concentrated that it can be thrown away in the form of large chunks of contaminated food that should not be consumed. at the very beginning. A complete waste of good, expensive meat. While I am returning this dangerous piece of junk to Revane they definitely will not pay for spoiled food so it was a costly lesson as there was a review on October 19th 2021 where someone also shared photos of exactly what happened for me (only my flesh contamination was black). It has great reviews, is inexpensive, and is great for mincing meat. But absolutely none of that matters unless you want to supplement your diet with aluminum alloy flakes due to the design/material choice of this scrap. Groceries in the US are hard enough to come by, save yourself the expensive and wasteful lesson of avoiding that particular product. Your body and wallet will thank you!
