I've tried over a dozen headphones over the past ten years. I chose the most popular models, accessed devices that never hit the market, tested tricks, and even spontaneously bought cheap models that looked like they would fit. I dropped almost all of them right away, either because of the fit, the tiny speakers, or because people couldn't hear me speak. One model I really liked from the old batch was a Plantronics I bought about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, these things don't last forever and the battery life has dropped to the point where it's no longer reliable. Then I, um, accidentally crushed it in my pocket and that was it. But since I had luck with the previous Plantronics headphones and saw good reviews on them, I gave it a try. I was not disappointed. First, they fit my ear because they have a hook that goes over my ear. I talk on the phone and gesture a lot. I've never had much luck with headphones that you plug in and magically stay in. I always need an earhook. It is and it is comfortable. There are days when I spend 6 hours on my cell phone. On some of these calls I speak, on others I mainly listen. In any case, I'm tolerating this device on my head during this time with no pain or discomfort. Even though my glasses are fighting for over-ear space, the speaker doesn't bother me. It's made of flexible rubber, so it easily conforms to the shape of my ear and glasses. Long phone calls can strain my hearing. Tiny speakers that distort the sound and volume that makes me want to listen. That's what drives me crazy about other headphones. This model has a clear sound for a conversational speaker. It's not as good as with headphones. And cell phones in general have pretty bad sound as they compress the sound. But for a speaker, the sound is quite decent. Bad sound makes it difficult to speak, but also makes you tired after many hours of talking on the phone. It's also good in a car where road noise can be a nuisance. I haven't tried it with the windows open or anything, but I can drive on the freeway and still hear people perfectly. For a bluetooth headphone this device has a really good sound. The other big question is how well people can hear me when I speak. I've had headphones that weren't loud, blurry, or inconsistent. Asking you to adjust the mic every 5 minutes is not fun and frustrating for customers. This is where the 5200 shines. I've never had better sound than this thing. As soon as I switched to that, any complaints about my microphone's position or volume went away. I can use it in a car with all the background noise and people can hear me perfectly. There seems to be some sort of noise cancellation in the speaker. I don't know how well this works - people might say there's background noise when I'm in a noisy place. What seems correct is that my voice is heard and the background noise doesn't bother me. The microphone on this one is so good that I bought it for my partner because he also often has hearing problems when making phone calls. Maybe this year I'll get one for everyone in my office, if only for my ears when I'm talking to them. When you get this headphone, you will get a case. The charging case is very convenient to extend battery life. I really get 7 hours right out of it, and when I'm wearing it or putting it in a case to keep it charged, I almost never worry about my earbuds being charged. More importantly, this thing is fragile. This flexible rubber arm is very comfortable, but also a weak point. My old Plantronics broke right there, and this one seemed stronger than this one. So bring a case to protect this item in your bag. I used a USB device to connect this to my computer. I've tried it on Mac and Linux, but not on Windows. It worked great for everyone and I can now use these headphones for the video calls I like. Its range is strange. It's usually great. It's so good that I put my phone down and start wandering around the room and by the time the conversation ends I can't find my phone. This is a strange problem. Where the range fluctuates when the phone is on my face. Sometimes when I put the phone in my pocket and put the receiver on my head, I get a little tear. I'm not sure what's wrong and if the phone or the speaker is to blame. Anyway, I try to keep my phone in my breast pocket instead of my waist pocket and this solves the problem. Although it's annoying. Setting up the speaker was pretty easy for me. I don't remember the steps, but I don't think I looked at the instructions. I think it was pretty easy and if you've done it on other devices you'll get the idea. Also, the user interface of this earbud is a bit confusing. I'm not sure what the main button does and it works differently at different times. However, the mute button definitely works and I use it a lot. The problem is that when I press the mute button, the voice says "Mute" or "Mute" and that tone is superimposed on the tone going through the device. Sometimes I can't figure out if it was on or off, which is annoying. When I turn it on, it connects fairly quickly when I put it in my ear, but then it wants to tell me how many hours of talk time I have left if I really want to hear the call I just answered. However, these are minor complaints. In summary, if you need Bluetooth headphones, this is what you need. Minor complaints just prove to me that the thing is pretty good. Because if he didn't do all the important things so well, I'd never have time to notice the little things.
