I recently purchased a Comica BoomX-D D2 wireless lavalier microphone system. I've used it off-road and I'm very happy with it. I mainly shoot travel videos and high quality audio has always been a problem. To that end, I've invested in products from Zoom, Rode, Edutige, Adzen, and Comica. All of these products have their uses, but I needed a small, high-quality dual-mic wireless system that would be capable of run-and-gun voice-over. So having had very good experiences with Rode and Comica products, I compared the specs and watched tons of YouTube videos for both the Rode Wireless Go and the Comica BoomX-D D2 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System. After reviewing the Rode and Comica 2.4, the G Digital Wireless Systems met my needs for build quality and crystal clear sound. But that's where the similarities end. In contrast to the Rode Wireless Go, the BoomX-D is a dual microphone system. You could even say it's a four-microphone system. Because both included BoomX transmitters have 3.5mm TRS inputs for direct connection to a lavalier or other microphone, as well as a built-in microphone for handheld interviews or surround recordings. Transmitters are fantastic at sending audio to a wireless receiver from the included and very high quality Comica lavalier microphones in either full stereo or dual mono tracks. In addition, a BoomX-D transmitter can be connected to a toilet and a second transmitter used as a portable or stand-mounted interview microphone. This is not possible with Wireless Go. Aside from the advantages of two included transmitters with one receiver compared to one transmitter and one receiver for almost the same price, the Comica BoomX-D system packs everything into a very nice product box. The BoomX-D system includes two high-quality Lava microphones. It also has two very effective Dead Cat Latrine Windmuffs. Comica also included two removable foam windshields for the Sender pickups. There's even an assortment of 3.5mm cables for Canon and Panasonic cameras, as well as a TRS-TRRS cable and Type-C USB charging cable.
