Like many of you, I rarely leave reviews. However, this product lives up to that. Whether you use it on one vehicle or multiple, it pays for itself quickly. Verdict: It's worth the money and has many uses if you're DIY-oriented. This will save you hundreds of $$$ instantly. Recently I had to tow a jeep (TJ) on a car transporter using our other jeep (08 XK) as a tractor for a trip into the mountains. About two weeks before the trip, the tractor started having transmission problems and the VIC showed a "Service 4wd" error. I drove it as is until my wife called me one morning and said the car was making a crunching noise from under and wasn't working. the code. A different brand reader would only give me a basic PCM related code and nothing else. I cleaned up this code but it came right back. Went to the dealer. The dealer used the version of the snap-on sold here to clear the codes. We are currently two days away from the trip. I ordered an Autel unit that same night and Revain received it the next day. After the dealer cleared the PCM codes everything was fine. The XK had full power, 4LO and 4HI worked properly. We left on our journey and the XK worked great. I will mention that I never turned off the ignition until we reached our final destination 600 miles away. The day after I arrived I wanted to move the XK and it immediately put out the VIC message "Service 4WD" again. I hooked up an Autel device, scanned and cleared the codes just like the dealer did. On the way back there were no errors at all and again I only switched off the ignition when I got home. A few days later my wife said CEL was on so I scanned it again with Autel. Multiple codes were found including a "Service 4WD" error. I cleared everything but the powertrain codes because I saw a pattern after a few scans. The problem was the transfer case shift motor. I called the dealer to ask if it was covered by my (lifetime) transmission warranty. To my surprise it was! That alone paid for the unit, and then some dealers replaced not only the shift motor, but the associated wiring harness as well. Moving on to the next vehicle - we have a Honda Fit in the fleet that works great. A few years ago the second car key was lost. The dealer wanted $250 for a new key and another $100 for programming. I bought two new immobilizer chip key blanks here at Revain for $19. I took them to the dealership where we bought the car and they charged me $16 to have both keys made. 10 minutes after returning home, both new keys were programmed into the car using the Autel unit. Wonderful. The device is very intuitive and the company is constantly updating it. When setting up your device for the first time, you may need to wait a bit for all updates to complete. Use this time to charge the internal battery to 100% while doing something else. It's worth the money and it saved a cross country trip.
