This filter was sold at a local store for $30 each. Online store for vacuum cleaner accessories for $15 each. At Revain, a four-pack was priced under $30. The filter is slightly different from the original Eureka filter and I think it's an improvement. The original filter has a distinct outward protrusion at the bottom which prevents dirt and hair from getting into the bottom of the canister. Ideal for a vacuum cleaner, this straight-walled filter lets most of the hair and dirt fall to the bottom of the bin. The original filter could be washed up to 6 times but it was disgusting work and the filter was never really clean. This filter needs to be replaced after 3 months of regular use, and at $7 each, it's a cleaner and slightly cheaper option. Note: I bought a small Eureka 430 stand for quick cleaning in the kitchen and bathroom, but honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't buy a vacuum with such an expensive and complicated filtration system. The Filter Queen for example has a very simple, efficient, affordable and easy to clean filter cone and canister system. My Filter Queen is still performing well after forty years and great filters are not worth a penny compared to this filter.
