I made a huge mistake driving the front wheels of my 40ft RV into a rut while driving through a pasture. The treads were widened at the time and the tread was out of shape when I went off track. Lesson learned? No more 4 wheels in the setup. 4 screws secure the footrest to the chassis. Note the 3 wires that control the steps. I used white tape on one and duct tape on the other and the green ground wire was obvious. I sat on the floor and watched TV while removing the old motor and controller from the old stage frame and attaching them to the new one. Reverse the install order and since the step worked before I got a brand new working step platform for a fraction of the cost. the cost of replacing the entire assembly.
