The original saddle for my Specialized Cross Trail Elite Hybrid was stiff and not very wide - in short, I felt uncomfortable on my bike rides. After a few months I got the seat cover with gel padding for more comfort, however it did move a bit while riding and over time the seams on the side frayed from rubbing with the pants. When looking for a replacement, I wanted a saddle with some padding and a wider width than my original, and the Respiro Moderate fitted the bill perfectly. The gel pad is flexible and will not harden over time. Increasing the width of this saddle combined with the ventilation also improved the pressure distribution in my underframe (although I can't say I actually feel ventilated). I've been driving the Respiro for over a year now and the ride comfort has greatly improved. I no longer have to get up from time to time or change my posture while driving to relieve discomfort. Since she feels comfortable with the saddle, my friend switched the saddle of her Gary Fischer to the women's Respiro and has no regrets. In short, this is a very comfortable and very well made saddle, well suited for commuters and outdoor enthusiasts (serious road cyclists should check out the other Selle Royal models). To the people who say all you have to do is endure a hard saddle, I say bull! An uncomfortable saddle is enough to deter many riders from getting on their bike.
