Review on πŸ”Œ Effortless Wireless Control: LoraTap's Power-Required 100-250VAC Solution by Deon Sweeney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am consistently impressed with the LoraTap improvement

Pros: Good company, great features, reliable functionality, compact size Cons: Not good enough for a US outlet, documentation could be clearer I have ordered LoraTap devices before and i historically liked them a lot, when they could only be used with local remotes i was excited to try the new app and functionality. I regularly use IFTTT for home automation as it's one of the most efficient tools I've found and as such this remote switch update is a massive improvement over the original. My first thought was to finally plug it into an outlet. as a smart controller for a few lamps in my living room. However, the outlets in my house have 2 sets of cords so would not be ideal for this device as I could only control half of the outlet or would need 2 devices for the entire outlet. While one device would fit snugly in the socket, I think 2 would be very tight. However, I cannot blame LoraTap for this as my outlets are not universal and the power switch was clearly marked on the product. Side with a pair of wires to turn on the power. If you have an outlet that only requires a pair of wires, then this would be a great use for this device. My general goal with devices is to avoid having multiple switches (physical and then digital) in series, as one of them could interfere with the function of the other. So I think sockets or household appliances are preferable to light switches. What I did after ditching the wall outlet was replacing the previous LoraTap I had been using in my bedside lamp. It's a great device because it's small enough to fit comfortably in the lamp while adding functionality so I can automate the use of the lamp. The product works reliably and since it can be used with IFTTT it offers a lot of flexibility for the home. Engineers who like to tinker and create new tools. To be honest, I can't wait to see this company's future products for improved home automation.
