Wow! What a difference the right tool makes! I have been pulling carpet staples all weekend by various methods, and I developed a solid technique with a tool from one of the major home improvement stores. With this tool, I’m getting them out in a fraction of the time it had been taking me. Amazing what a difference it makes to have a thoughtfully engineered tool to work with. Easy to grip, with a perfectly shaped tip for getting under embedded staples with minimal damage to the floor below (which every tool will do if the staple went in too far). I didn’t know what to expect from the metal box hinged to the bottom of the tool. I found out it works perfectly to grip the staple to the extracting tip when you lever the handle to the floor, pulling out the staple with no broken staples and no need to come back with pliers.
