Had to remove narrow (1/4") and long (1 1/4") staples from a few types of wood boards. It won't get under the narrow ones well enough without modification. Ended up grinding it narrower with a dremel as suggested in the top review. It is able to get out most of the long staples, but the really stubborn ones will bend this tool. I wanted to remove some staples that I had put into a wood frame with a staple gun. I was skeptical that spending $12 was worth it. I was concerned that it wouldn't work or that it would ruin the wood. It was well worth the $12! It made removing the staples so seamless and easy and no ruining the wood!

This tool is great. Comfortable to use in my arthritic hands and does the job. I still keep needle nosed pliers handy to pull out some of the staples that aren’t completely removed. But it gets under the staple well and works so much better ( and is safer) than a screwdriver which I used for years.This is a perfect example of the great offerings on revain that you would never find in a hardware store!

Purchased an older home with original hardwood floors under wall to wall carpet. After doing some research I found this product. I purchased two so I wouldn't be the only one removing staples from the floor! :) I had both regular and narrow staples throughout. I read somewhere to use a dremel to make the metal of the remover narrower to allow you to get under the smaller staples. I did that and it worked perfectly! Such a lifesaver and timesaver!

Bored one day, I decided to recover my dining room chairs. With no appropriate tools, I started with a couple of screwdrivers to pull out the old staples. My hand soon gave out so I watched a YouTube video and the person recommended this staple puller. It works great, so much better than I hoped. The grip is incredibly comfortable. It doesn't always pull out every staple completely, leaving one side of the staple still in the wood, but that's what pliers are for. I highly recommend it.

I used this tool to remove staples from a box spring. This tool has a good ergonomic and easy to use. However, sometimes you need a little bit of push/force in order for the tip of this tool to pry under staples. Everything else is fine and it’s price is reasonable. As you see at the end of the video clip, I removed all the staples seen in the magnet tray within about an hour. I highly recommend buying and owning this tool.

Saw it on a you tube video. It’s EASY to use and most importantly NOT messing up my gorgeous wood floors that were covered in 50yo carpet.- May still need pliers to remove portions of staples.

This tool only works if there is a little bit of space under the bridge of the staples you are trying to remove. (see photo 2). If the staple is tightly inserted into wood (such as photo 1) the pointed end is too large (thick) to get under it without a lot of digging. IF you can get the point under the staple bridge, it works great and is almost effortless. If the staples are tightly inserted, you will struggle mightily to get it under the staple bridge. I bought a staple remover from Lowe’s and couldn’t get it under the staple to begin prying it out. This was recommended by an associate and I’m glad they did!

When I opened the package, I was skeptical that it would work. So I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it pulls up staples from the subfloor where a carpet pad had been stapled.Even the somewhat embedded staples pop right out. It makes a messy job much faster and easier to complete; my back is happier, too.

I used this staple remover on hardwood floors after pulling up carpeting. So worth the money! Easy to use, worked very well with a very short learning curve, and was so much faster than before using this tool. Maybe it's the item i was trying to reupholster but the staples on the chair were very much flush with the surface so I was mostly unable to get this tool under the staple without using a rubber mallet. Once I got it in, it was easy to pull out and I was able to use the grabber portion to clamp down on it to pull out the other side of the staples if I accidentally didn't evenly pull out the staples on both sides at the same time.
