Had to remove narrow (1/4") and long (1 1/4") staples from a few types of wood boards. It won't get under the narrow ones well enough without modification. Ended up grinding it narrower with a dremel as suggested in the top review. It is able to get out most of the long staples, but the really stubborn ones will bend this tool. I found myself having to stop and bend it back into its original shape after pulling the more difficult staples. Had to do this several times and it required considerable effort, but ultimately this tool worked where none of my other tools could. There was one staple it couldn't pull at all & would only bend, but that one was unusually stubborn compared to the rest.
