These cables are a slightly higher gauge (thinner wire) than my original Swann brand cables. However, I experienced no signal loss or degradation of signal. I would be very careful during installation. I could see that if you tried to force them through a small area you might strip the plastic coating off or break a wire. I'm very happy with my purchase.
