I had a similar pair for snorkeling/wading in colder water last year and found them to really help (but I lost them) so I bought them to keep my feet on hot Stay comfortable sand and when walking on coarse sand. While they don't protect the soles as well as real rubber soled shoes, they served the purpose I bought them for very well. However, the sizing is not entirely correct. Since it was in inches and not shoe sizes, I measured my foot and ordered a large one. I wear women's size 7-8 and had a few extra inches on my toes. It didn't really matter since I was just casually walking along the beach, but for more serious swimming or running (or wearing fins) it might be a hindrance.
