I used this to plug a hole in the shoulder of my leather motorcycle suit. I am sure that in the event of an accident this will not strengthen the skin structure very much. However, it seals the hole and holds very tight. I'm surprised how well it holds up. To update. After a few more falls since putting this on the hole in my racing suit I can truly say I'm amazed. I've had several accidents on track where I've had abrasions right where I put this patch. Surprisingly, it's still where I put it and has held up to the abrasion just as well as the original leather! I am so thrilled that I bought another one for the other side which now also has a hole in the leather.
