These mylar blankets are one of the largest I have ever used. At 5-9 I felt the sizes were generous and should accommodate a 6ft person without too much trouble. The best news is that price, if you don't feel one of them is doing the job, just add another. The packaging is excellent. I couldn't tell how thick the comforter was to be honest, but it "appears" to be thicker than the product it replaced. They also don't wrinkle nearly as much, which comes in handy when you're trying to rest or fall asleep. The last pack of Mylar blankets I bought from Army/Navy surplus was really disposable and used. These refoldable blankets are strong enough to be reused. Forget about using the original plastic packaging. Even if you do your best, you still need a liter Ziploc bag. It doesn't have to be an HD Freezer type. The variety of Dollar Store is just wonderful. Outside of an emergency I'm considering using them as part of a base camp where I won't be taking down the tent and packing bags every day. 3, 4 or 5 days is no problem, and then just throw it away. Difficult to pinpoint, but I believe these blankets would allow for a comfortable temperature of 15 degrees cooler than without them. This alone is absolutely worth a dollar apiece. There are often four of us on the road, so there's a pack of 10 in each car or in each BOB bag, and I think that's enough. I wouldn't call myself a survivor, but these blankets are a must have. To be honest, at this price point, especially if you are in a cold weather region, it would be foolish not to have a 10 pack handy. Add 1 rug for 2 people expected to travel. Good for the night even when temperatures are around freezing.
