At first glance, the armbands are not bad. No installation hassles, hardware included, looks great and looks sturdy. They rode my son's bike and, as is often the case with newbies, it made a mess. It's okay, the levers and hands have been protected. The guard was knocked out of position so I rotated her into place and then found a mistake. The end of the handlebars was fine, but the pair of semi-circular clips holding the handlebars in place were defective. Clamping pressure is generated by a pair of mounting bolts threaded into the rear semi-circular clamp, and the clamps themselves are aluminum. When the burial put real pressure on the rail, the aluminum threads broke and that side was no longer pinched. I can now drill a hole and fit the nut + longer bolt so I can still use these guards, but I am disappointed that one spill was enough to use up these guards. I knew they were cheap but I was hoping for value.
