I have been using a Wilson 4G-M amplifier in my car for over a year. I work remotely from my RV. The 12 inch omnidirectional antenna is great in many situations and often boosts a 3G data signal to a much better 4G signal. But in remote areas I needed more gain so I decided to try this yagi antenna. I attached it to a 12 foot pole (the electrical cord we had at the store) and attached it to my amp in the middle of the San Rafael Swell in Utah where Verizon's signal is very weak. In a place where there was almost no signal with my normal setup, this antenna gave me a full four bars of 4G signal. Bandwidth was still low, but it was amazing to see how this antenna picked up such a strong signal in a location where an omnidirectional antenna could not. to determine the location of the next tower. Even better, since it's a direction tower, you can actually pick the best tower for your location (rather than relying on an omni-directional version that can switch between towers). Although Wilson will tell you it's only for desktop applications. I've had great success driving at low speeds with this antenna. This way I was able to find the best signal without boosting or cutting it. Note, however, that the plastic construction will not withstand high vehicle speeds (any speed over 15 mph may be questionable). My installation of Wilson has completely changed the way I work remotely and the technical support via phone and email is fantastic. Technicians are courteous and take the time to explain technical details in a way that laypeople can understand. Highly recommended. If you're struggling to improve your signal with these products, remember that your location may have a lot to do with it. Cell phone signals are incredibly complex and bounce everywhere, and even network engineers sometimes struggle with the signals.
