I will bend by bending 4 brass rods, threading them into the bent ends and attaching the bent ends to the four screw holes. Then I attach the fifth brass rod to the center pin. Finally I trim all 5 brass rods to 1/4 the wavelength I want to transmit. (2 meters, 1.2 meters or 70 centimeters) To install this antenna I attach the coax cable to the connector, run the coax cable through a length of PVC pipe, insert the pipe into the flag pole mount and la viola! for less than $20 for a cheap but effective antenna! 6 parts to assemble the antenna, 2 parts to assemble the bracket and a coaxial cable to connect the radio.
