We use Actio Material Disclosure to manage our materials from suppliers. It provides a nice way to communicate between us and our suppliers about how we are doing on each of our current contracts. With the option to export all information in CSV format, it is very useful for creating invoices, calculating shipping costs, etc. We would recommend Actio Material Disclosure to anyone who needs a great way to track materials used in production. I am currently using this software as my sole means of tracking materials being purchased/used in the manufacturing process. In addition to providing an inventory overview (i.e., stock levels), it also has many features which make it easier than most other systems to calculate various aspects of our cost structure. For example, when I purchase a part number X from supplier Y, I can enter a description of the material along with its dimensions, quantity, unit price, vendor invoice ID, date acquired, etc..and then click 'Add' to add those details into the database for future reference. All these data points allow me to easily determine if any of them changed over time or were updated due to some event such as receiving an order or changing a contract. It's extremely flexible, and does everything I want without having to get overly technical - something I love about web-based solutions!
