Red squares are square but threaded rods are not. I had to heat and bend the threaded rods to make them 90 degrees. The slightly obtuse angle caused the pinched wood to roll slightly towards the pinched side. After the rods are bent, they now sit flush on the square. I would also like the non-threaded side that goes in the hole to be a bit longer to fit all the way in, but that seems to work.
