I bought this for only $35 because the unit came out of the original box and was slightly scratched/broken, but even then the pictures didn't prepare me. He trembles at the slightest twist of my wrist. If I wasn't just gaming on a laptop, I'd hate it for work. The top holds 20 pounds according to the manual, and the shelves are 15 each, for a total of around 35-60 pounds. I also think that's exaggerated, because even a slight bump with your feet causes the base plate to gently detach. I end up having to drill holes deeper, the mounting screws that attach them are not enough to prevent wobble. Also be careful only footpads are supplied which are mainly nails, more for carpet than hardwoods to lift your wood. It's okay for $30, but for $60 new I'd spend your money elsewhere because it's underpowered, even if it just has a ROG Strix and a couple of books underneath.
