I don't use it for gaming, but I will be looking at relatively large images/models, so resolution and image quality are important. My ViewSonic arrived very quickly - I removed the built in stand and placed it on a monitor mount that allows the monitor to rotate - a standard TV/monitor mount and this monitor fits easily (it took a little expert knowledge to see , which screws had to be removed to completely remove the built-in stand). Eventually I'll have to use DisplayPort, but for now I'm fine with standard VGA. The picture is clear, basic video playback functions work, basic simulation programs work and are easy to view. No configuration required (with Fedora 34 - "just works"). I already had external speakers and a subwoofer that I found in an "old but good stuff" bin. Then I realized that the monitor has speaker and microphone ports, so I decided to give it a try. The old sound system sounded great, but it feels like a cardboard speaker - not even a left/right channel speaker - the same mono speaker that sounds like it came out of some sort of plastic jar. I will continue to use my REAL speakers, thank you. Although I did not select this monitor for this feature, I am deducting a star as the advertised feature is almost non-existent. I have other monitors with built in audio and you will hardly notice any difference in basic video playback (games are another story). You can definitely tell the difference here. I'm afraid the microphone will get worse (unverified). It's even weirder that you don't have volume buttons on your monitor! You have to go through the menu to find the sound settings to adjust the volume controls. Here's a quick mute button for you when you need it. The control buttons are located on the back of the monitor behind the labels printed on the front. This definition is "weird" - I'm used to the buttons on the front or bottom of the monitor - not on the back, but I think you can get used to it over time. Considering the relatively low resolution and frame rate (at least with the standard VGA I'm using now) this is definitely NOT a gaming system. It's not used with a high-end graphics card, but I think you'll get "good" performance in an average game, and unless you're a "graphophile" you probably won't experience framerate drops etc . to notice. on this monitor. The advantage of this monitor is the price. You can get relatively good quality for the money and get two for what you would pay for a quality one. It's enough for a monitor I need on a workbench.
