Although I've only used it for slicing red onions, cucumbers and squash, I appreciate the aesthetic appeal of even slices as well as the increased speed of obtaining them. I also appreciate that multiple functions don't require separate blades and other clutter, the cutting blade is easy to sharpen, and everything is easy to clean. The slicing alone revealed a limitation that others may find sufficient to offset the aesthetic appeal of uniform slices. and the speed and potentially reduced risk of getting them. However, this potential is only realized when using a cylindrical vegetable holder (interior and exterior views shown). Vegetables less than 4 inches in cross section (diameter of holder) can be held in place by the internal pins shown on Figure 1, however, anything with a cross section of more than 4 inches or a length of more than about 1.75 inch has (its depth) needs to be trimmed. an uneven disc. Of course, the holder does not have to be used. But I've learned the hard way that using a blade without a holder is at least as risky as using knives carelessly. The frequency with which other reviewers emphasize the blade's sharpness suggests I'm the only one acknowledging the injury.
