Set up is designed to be as quick and easy as possible with 4 parts that slide together. Mine was terribly difficult though because the slides were too far apart to easily slide from behind. A little effort got it in, but it took me weeks to slide the chair back to make sure it didn't pop out. In the end, I believe I bent the foils to preserve the backing over time. I reattached the shoulder tips but I'm afraid to take them apart to fix them because I don't know how difficult it will be. Put it back together. The connection points are metal but not very thick. He holds me well (240 lbs). I've had him for several months now. The day I have to move it it has to be taken apart because the pieces are falling apart and I really dread that day.
