This light is so bright it's unbelievable. I have a very good beam flashlight and it is just as bright if not brighter. A really great purchase for the money, since most lamps with this brightness are significantly more expensive. I was concerned about the scatter pattern and although it looks like a very large, very bright circle with a small halo around it, once it was attached to my handlebars, the entire track ahead of me shone bright as day, everything in the center is a bright area and the halo were just a little lagniappe. I ride a windy causeway trail along the Mississippi River so I really did my research and comparison before buying as I didn't want to get caught or become alligator bait. This light is like a headlight and exceeded my expectations. It's also very white in color at its brightest setting, which helped. The mount does need some fiddling though and as I can't easily mount it in the center of the handlebars and it doesn't twist and turn and my OCD can't have an off center light to guide me. I'll have to get creative with how I'm going to mount this thing so it's centered and doesn't move when I hit a bumpy trail (I did ride a road bike on a gravel road, though, so I might as well have put mine there were wooden hoops.
