First, I love the silicone mat that comes with the straightener and I like the locking feature on the top of the straightener. So if you travel with it, you've won. You don't have to worry about it opening and getting damaged, or it falling on its side and damaging something the hot plates are touching. It works great, heats up very quickly and straightens in fewer passes than my other straighteners. I have used in the past and I have 4b/c hair so being able to turn off the hair straightening process at any time is great. The only thing I had a big problem with was the buttons on the side, which are a little touchy. So if you're not quite careful when straightening your hair, you'll accidentally turn down the heat settings and turn them down, which if you're prone to heat damage is something you should definitely watch out for.
