First I would like to say that this works and it seems to work quite well. I use mine on the end of a 12v air compressor after my newest (different brand) melted after using it. The wiring used is 16 gauge wire. I stuck the new end into an air compressor, ran it for 5-10 minutes, and in all that time the connector never got more than a little hot. The socket is fused with 15 amps. It was easy to install which required some soldering on the ends of the links and I had no problems with it. What I did not like. First, the pins are separate on both sides. All the ones I've used in the past, the feather pieces on the sides were one piece, not two. This means that if the side the wire connects to doesn't make a good connection, the other side will just help hold it in place. With LED light, you don't need to use it as it just tells you it has power. Due to the limited space I didn't like the idea of using it, so I unsoldered the connection and then pressed the wire against the case so it wasn't stressed. The reason is that I didn't like using it. First, for an LED, the setup requires a resistor to pull the voltage down to the voltage of the LED. Resistors can get hot over time and being so close to the wiring I didn't feel safe risking something happening because of it. Another thing I didn't like was the way the wires were attached. On most devices, just pushing the wire in will usually wrap it around something to secure it to the case. So when it is pulled, pressure is applied directly to the case. In this case, there is no way to attach it to the body. So when you pull on the cable, the pressure goes straight to the terminals where they are soldered. While this works, I don't like this setup for anything that might twitch regularly. I have 16 gauge wire, which isn't too bad, but what if you used, say, 10 gauge wire? Such a thin wire can break if pulled too often. I am attaching 2 photos where you can see how it goes and the second shows what it looks like with the wiring installed or soldered on. for connections. For myself I will keep the second one as a spare so if this one breaks if the wiring and connectors are ok I can just pull them out of this one and put them in the new one and don't solder them back on.
