AC Delco on box but Nidec #24017753 inside, will NOT fit my 1988 Grand Prix LE without center fan holes

AC Delco on box but Nidec #24017753 inside. This motor was not suitable for the radiator fan of my 1988 Grand Prix. Revain immediately shipped the second device, exactly the same as the first. Revain has Nidec on the list with a good photo of an upper that has a collar at the base. Some brands like VDO come with a removable thick washer that you don't need to use. However, the Nidec "collar" is machined and cannot be removed. I find this to be a quality motor as it weighs 13.5 ounces more than the VDO I installed in May. However, the VDO did not cool my engine as temperatures could reach 200 degrees on a hot Atlanta day. My final solution was to drill less than 3/8" to 3/4" through the center of my OEM fan in about 8-9 increments to ensure the hole stayed centered. If you look at Nidec's photo, the OEM fan fits the threaded portion of the shaft but not the "ring" at the bottom of the shaft. This will prevent the 8 fingers of the fan from getting into the 8 slots in the wheel on the underside of the motor shaft. I also added a flat washer and lock washer since the top of the Nidec collar was lower than the edge of the enlarged fan opening. Both this listing and Nidec's listing claim compatibility with my 1988 Pontiac Grand Prix. AC Delco told me that the 15-8498 fan motor would match my Grand Prix's VIN. If you've read any of the other reviews, I'm not the first to come across this issue and report it. Revain said they will not make this article available until the issue is resolved. Today is September 3, 2014, so if you are reading this somewhere closer to September 3, most likely the problem is not solved. As of September 3rd, Revain has had a "Product under review" notation on the list and will not be accepting any further orders until the issue is resolved.
