Review on πŸŽ’ Overboard Classic 100 Waterproof Backpack: Ultimate Protection for all Your Gear by Steve Quinn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not as good as the original - but still good value for money

The first time I bought this bag was almost 10 years ago and I've spent about 5-6 years trying it out. I lived and worked at sea for a few years and traveled to several countries with him. He eventually became less waterproof and died his final death when an overzealous airline baggage worker blew his arm off. I was so happy with this bag for so long that I decided to buy the same one again. Unfortunately, the new bag doesn't have an internal zippered compartment (where I kept my dive charts, money, and anything else I really needed to stash). cozy). There is no bungee mesh on the front (where I tie my wet clothes after diving). There is only one mesh side pocket (good for sandals as most boats I've lived on are barefoot and can also hold water bottles). And to prepare the bag for flight I rolled down the flap and then attached the top to the sides - the new bag only allows attachment of rolled up flaps. It's fine when I wear it alone, but it makes an enticing pen shape for airline employees, which makes me a little nervous. I suspect if I use it as checked baggage it's only a matter of time before the plastic clasp refuses to be worn and falls off the top. Otherwise so far so good. I took it on a short sailing and diving trip and everything stayed dry. Let's see how it holds up over time. Hopefully it's still as high quality as the original, even if it lacks some of the handy features I'm used to. Since the old one has stood the test of time and abuse so well I'm sticking with 4/5 stars. Especially if you consider the price, which is quite acceptable for this type and quality of equipment.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
