Review on PowerA Fusion Wireless Arcade Stick for Nintendo Switch Lite, Fight Stick, Gamepad, Game Controller - Bluetooth Controller with AA Batteries - Nintendo Switch by Mike Cody

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent controller, but too expensive and the d-pad isn't perfect.

I bought one of these to play fighting games, old school shooters and other arcade action games. It's a decent controller, but it doesn't cost $59.99. The design appears to be modeled after the legendary SEGA Saturn 6-button controller and is roughly similar. However, the D-Pad has more "float" than the SS Pad, making it difficult to perform certain moves 100% of the time in fighting games. I'm pretty good at fighting games and can usually do special moves pretty flawlessly, but with this D-Pad I can't land a dragon punch about 10-15% of the time in Street Fighter. However, I haven't had much trouble performing special moves in SNK games. The buttons themselves aren't as good as the SS controller either. They're not bad, but they're not perfect. It definitely doesn't cost $60. It should cost around $30, especially since it's wired only. It definitely can't compete with the much cheaper HORI Fighting Commander wired controller, but it's only available for PS3/4 and Xbox 360/XB1. HORI has a plethora of Switch products and I have no idea why they haven't released a combat controller for it. Coming back to that controller, I think the reason the D-Pad has more floating travel is because of the swappable bezel design. It's a cool feature, but I'd rather have a controller with the perfect feel. I also bought the same controller for XBOX One. Haven't tried it yet to see if it has the same d-pad issue. If this is NOT the case I will edit this review and make a note. I'm currently giving it 3/5 stars. Right.
