It usually takes two or three button presses to make it work. Sometimes one button works, but then you have to point the device directly at the connector for the other button to work. I've used other brands of outdoor remotes and they work much more consistently indoors as well. In this case, you usually can't have a closed sliding glass door between you and the plug or it won't work. I'm not sure I will, but I can't find another brand that has the ability to use three plugs on one remote and program them to work independently. Good idea and useful product, it just doesn't work like it should and I'm worried it won't last long as it doesn't work like new.
