Review on 🎧 Portable Panasonic Micro Fiber Motorized Cassette Adapter for Audio & Video by Adam Walsh

Despite my misgivings (and many dubious reviews of this type of product) I bought this weird motorized device to see if I could use it to transfer around 30 old VHS cassettes - C to my Mac. I used an old rented VHS and had some issues at first with the video not showing and then the quality was poor. With all the variables, it took me a while to figure it all out. It turned out that I had to try a few video capture devices before I found one that worked well (elgato video capture on Amazon) and then I had to watch a few YouTube videos and figure out what it is how to clean VCR heads (makes a BIG difference). ). And I also had to watch a YouTube video to make sure I inserted the VHS C-tape correctly. But after all that, this adapter works very well. The trick is to make sure there is no slack in the tape (manually twist the tape to tighten) before inserting it into the VCR. Press Rewind to ensure the tape is rewound and taut. I had no problems playing the cassettes. I had to clean the heads a second time because apparently the tapes were a mess (or I didn't clean them properly the first time), but the adapter worked like a champ.
