Mounted on a 6V motorcycle battery. Can't install 12V car battery.

Bought this GOOLOO 6V/12V smart charger in January 2020 based on all the rave reviews. Didn't have to use it until today, 04/22/2020. Tried repeatedly to start to recharge the dead 12 volt battery in my car. The instructions for the charger are poorly written and incomprehensible. Maybe I could accept the problem with the instructions if the device actually works. Every time the battery terminals are connected to my car's 12v battery terminals, the unit is set to charge a 12v motorcycle. NOT GOOD.
