Review on Sangean WR-7DK Dark Cherry Wood Cabinet Mini Bluetooth Speaker with FM Radio Tuner and Aux-in by Debbie Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great radio in a small package. High quality, great sound, reception etc.

Bought for a specific purpose. I wanted an external computer speaker that wouldn't take up much desk space, but I also wanted a radio. That's the great thing about it. It's on my table. I have a stereo mini (3.5mm) male to male cable from the audio jack on my computer to the AUX on this radio/speaker. I have another computer that connects to this radio/speaker via Bluetooth. So now I can switch the audio from the radio (FM only though), to one computer (via AUX) or to another (via Bluetooth) without turning anything off. Simply by turning a small selector switch. (Tivoli, note: Sangean doesn't force you to unplug your AUX cable before you can listen to the radio again.) The speaker is small, so you won't find a loud base. But the sound is full and pleasant. It's really great for the voice and very good for the music. Yes, the volume control and source selector are quite small, but it's actually very easy to work with. The radio tuner is surprisingly good. It's a lot easier to set up than I expected and the reception is exceptional. For example, a station I like on the AM band (this radio only has FM) also has an FM signal, but it's weak in this city. I don't get that FM signal with any of my Tivoli radios to be honest, but he hooked it up correctly and attached it to this little Sangean. Of course, it works fine on other FM stations with reasonable power. With or without the small antenna attached (the cable you connect). I have a lot of radios because I like them. This is the best FM tuner I have ever owned. I'm amazed. Something else about Bluetooth. On my computer (Mac) I use iMovie for video editing. On another bluetooth speaker I couldn't use iMovie and synced the voice well as far as sound goes. Just not this little device. Audio syncing with my Mac isn't working. I'm really amazed at that. So it didn't take long for me. We'll see how it holds up over time, but it feels very solid, very well constructed and a pleasure to use and listen to. I will buy another one for the office. If you are unsure about this radio/speaker, just stop and search the internet. There are many reviews from different people who regularly check the equipment, especially radio amateurs. The reviews are excellent as well. [I have no affiliation with Sangean and by the way I don't get anything for this review. I think I'll probably buy another third for another table I use a lot. I like it so much.]
