My cat, like most cats, is special. She has always preferred our valuable furniture to the cardboard scratching posts that are sold almost everywhere. I even gave her a little carpet tunnel to scratch but she hates it even more. Neither of us were happy with the situation. On the rare occasions that she used cardboard scrapers, they made a mess by throwing out small scraps of paper that looked like trash. Then I found it! I expected I'd have to pour catnip over it to encourage her to try, but as soon as I put it on the floor she went to work. There is no mess in it, it seems to her something I can find valuable and dear, like a piece of our furniture (may all rest in peace). Haven't tried sticky pads because she hasn't ridden them yet, but I have them next to a shelf and wall which helps. For this reason I bought a second one to put in another part of the house. Aside from being perfectly functional and minimal mess, they look pretty cute compared to cardboard scrapers. I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it if you have tortoiseshell cats who have episodes of demon possession and furniture destruction. I'm sure smarter cats will love it too! And it will be a great gift for cat owners.
